In memory of my lovely friend, Frances, who showed kindness and generosity over 40 years of friendship and took particular care of me when I was young. We shared many things, and not least, a love of op shopping. She lived on a shoestring but always knew how to dress in style. If she’d had a different kind of life, she could easily have been a designer. She made Australia her home in her 20s and I’m so grateful that she did. RIP ❤️
Today I wore this. But this photo was taken just on a year earlier. So much has happened since! I’d barely heard of COVID when this was taken but shortly afterwards I was to go from doing five exercise classes per week to zero in lockdown and I moved all my style consultations online as well as my social life and everything else! It’s so easy to take things for granted but how life can change when we least expect it to! This beautiful dress was made for me by @andreanicholsondesigns and I was fortunate to make the acquaintance during lockdown of the very tasteful @pomtassel_home who has the blue version! 💙 I was happy to have the opportunity to wear it today and it was very accommodating of my corona curves- lol! 🤣 There is a glimpse of a hat by the extraordinary @wendyscullymillinery and earrings by the lovely @jennyandersondesigns

I can’t think of a better thing to wish for everyone than a fresh and optimistic start to this new year. Peace, love and kindness sounds like a good mantra to me. ❤️
Here’s my style tip of the season: if you’d like to add some festivity into your outfit without buying new clothes, wrap a sparkly piece around your shoulders like the one I have here from @angelaclarkboutique 🥰 If you’ve gained some corona curves, like most of us this year, you may want to wait until your weight stabilises before buying new clothes but the beauty of jewellery is that it will always fit you! You can add some sparkle to the plainest of outfits; a simple shift dress or t-shirt and jeans. And if you grab a piece like this from @angelaclarkboutique it doubles as a belt! Investing in pieces that can be used in multiple ways means fewer resources are used. I want to make a special mention too of this glorious dress called ‘Campfire’ by @buluuy_mirrii Stay tuned to see the full dress in a future post... ⭐️ Less visible are my @kath_inglis earrings which are very much loved! ❤️
